Experienced Curry and tandoor cook wanted for a busy GlenField Restaurant.
Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian curries, gravies, and accompaniments. Develop and follow standardized recipes to maintain consistency and taste. Manage the preparation of spice mixes (masalas), marinades, and pastes. Ensure proper cooking techniques such as tadka/tempering, slow cooking, and roasting of spices. Create menu items and specials based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain high kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards. Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock levels. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as needed. Work with management to control food costs and minimize waste. Coordinate timing and delivery of dishes during peak hours.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Curry and Tandoor Chef (preferably in a high-volume or fast-paced environment)
Formal culinary training or qualifications (e.g., Certificate in Cookery)
Passion for quality, presentation, and consistency
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Commitment to safe and hygienic kitchen practices
