I completed a phone interview and group onboarding session—staff and managers came across as friendly and organized. That said, the employment contract raised serious concerns, including an NDA and several questionable elements. They were also running a “$100 for showing proof of COVID vaccination” offer at the time to hide that vaccination status was in fact a condition of employment. Tip pooling was mandatory and felt inequitable. For a company that brands itself around vegan ethics, the corporate side felt sneaky, predatory and out of step. The restaurant teams seemed fine, but I got major red flags from their corporte structure.
