I had four interviews. One phone screen with the recruiter, another with the VP and then I met with the team. I was then scheduled to meet with VP again for a final interview. At first, I received quick updates from the recruiter by text then it slowed down to basically radio silence. This was probably when they decided to pursue either candidates, but failed to be forthright.
The other times I reached out for an update I got the usual “we are still very early in the interview process” and “you’re on the list/still in the running”. The job had been posted for almost a month and I went through four rounds of interviews..
Like a previous reviewer, I was made given the impression that I seemed to good fit by the recruiter and VP for weeks. When I reached out to the recruiter for an update, he said he would touch base at the end of the week. I heard nothing and saw the job was reposted with new requirements.. I still have not received any feedback and my login for their website states that my email doesn’t exist.
A little transparency could have saved so much time and effort in this scenario especially during these tough times for candidates. I would not recommend unless you want to be strung along for a few months because they want to put you on standby and waste your time. That should tell you a lot about the company and you should question if you really want to be associated with an organization like that.
Please do your candidates a favor and do not waste their time. It is better to be honest and direct. I would not recommend unless you want to be on a roller coaster and left in the dark for months on where you stand in the process. Not a great candidate experience. I will not be recommending to anyone I know. I am posting this in hopes that improvements are made by hiring managers and talent acquisition for future candidates. I understand that it isn’t requirement to keep candidates posted, but this isn’t a candidate experience that I would have expected to receive from company of this size and stature.
