      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Unispec (Washington, DC) in Oct 2017

      Interview

Telephone interview with the CEO followed by two in person interviews one with the CEO and another with the project manager. The first two interviews went great the CEO is a great guy and things went even better in person. They had to figure out where to place me but assured me I would have a job. Then after hearing nothing for a month they asked me to do the same interview and skills assesment with the project manager. Again all went well and I was assured they would let me know where I would be placed by the end of the following week. "Crickets" for almost 2 months and then the audacity to send a generic email saying they would be persuing other candidates, after assuring me my experience was great and they would be placing me in a position, and not even the decency to provide feedback after leaving a candidate hanging for a total of 3 months. I had read and heard great things about this company and was extremely disappointed with their treatment of a prospective candidate. Very disorganized.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Unispec (Washington, DC) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I had an initial phone interview with a recruiter and then was called in for an in-person interview with the CEO. Both individuals were very friendly and easy going.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Unispec (Washington, DC) in Nov 2017

      Interview

The interview process was quick and not too difficult. I had a phone interview which was originally for a different position. I took the required skills test, then a follow up interview was scheduled. This interview was for a second position, but during the interview process I was told I would not qualify as an Executive Assistant, as most of them had graduate degrees. A "Floater" role was proposed for me, where I would essentially be a full time temp. I saw the benefit here being that I would have the opportunity to work in several areas before likely permanent assignment. The salary range was also decent. Oddly, the one who conducted my interview encouraged me to edit my resume to make me appear less experienced. He suggested I use words that were less commanding, like "assisted" and even alter my titles on my resume, changing my role from "manager" to "assistant." Within a couple days, I was issued an offer letter. I signed it, and began the clearance process. I'd learned that they had employees whose clearance took anywhere from days to 2 years. I received a call just 1 week in informing me that mine was in the "final approval" process and relayed this info to Unispec. I was told this meant I would receive a decision "any day." During this time, I made 2 trips to the job site with Unispec and attended their Thanksgiving holiday party. Then, less than 2 weeks later, on a Friday, a week before Christmas I received a letter informing me that "due to failure to obtain the required public trust clearance in a timely manner, we must rescind your offer of employment." My clearance was still moving along quickly within days of concluding, so this came as a shock. I had also turned down two job offers. One during the interview process, and one just one week prior. I'd signed the offer letter, and I intended to keep my word. Upon receipt of the news, I called, leaving a voicemail and emailed Unispec. Unfortunately, I was given no additional information and no call back. Needless to say, I have learned a lot of lessons during this process.
