I had a very non-traditional hiring process. After submitting my application online I would pop into the store about once a week to inquire about the status of my application. After a month of this one of the supervisors approached the ASM and pretty much told him to hire me. We went into his office, he asked me briefly about my prior work experience and then hired me.

It was straightforward and simple for an entry level position. I was one of many high school and college age students that worked there part time, so it was a basic process of asking if you can work the hours, show up on time, and be presentable. You were brought up to a manager's office and asked the basic questions, nothing too crazy since it's a position that doesn't require skills or previous experience.
