I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Swaayatt Robots (Bhopal) in Jun 2025
Interview
1. Resume and Project-Based Questions:
The interview began with questions centered on my resume and previous internship experiences. They asked me to explain my projects in depth. I provided detailed explanations, covering the motivations, methodologies, and outcomes. However, the interviewers kept probing with repeated “why” questions at every stage. Although I responded confidently and to the best of my knowledge, they still seemed unconvinced by my answers — despite them being accurate and well-structured.
2. Core ML Concept – Linear Regression:
They then moved on to technical topics, starting with linear regression. I explained the algorithm thoroughly — including how to derive the best-fit line, how to calculate the parameters m and c using optimization techniques, and the mathematical basis for choosing Mean Squared Error (MSE) as the loss function. They kept digging deeper with more mathematical questions around the topic. Even though I answered all of them correctly and in a structured way, they again appeared unsatisfied.
3. Classification and SVM:
Next, they shifted to classification algorithms and asked me about Support Vector Machines (SVM). I explained the general idea of SVMs, but when it came to the deep mathematical intuition — such as optimization with Lagrange multipliers, the dual form, and kernel trick mathematics — I wasn’t able to explain everything properly. I acknowledge this was a weak point in my response.
4. Coding Questions:
They also asked me several coding questions. The initial ones were straightforward, but the difficulty kept increasing gradually. It seemed like they would continue asking until I reached a point where I had to admit, “Sir, I don’t know.”
Overall Observation:
The entire interview lasted for about an hour and was extremely rigorous. One key takeaway is that they expect very deep mathematical understanding behind every concept — not just definitions or surface-level knowledge. They dig into derivations, intuitions, and edge cases, and they test your ability to defend your answers logically and mathematically.
Also there will be more than 1 rounds even for internship.
