I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Starlims (Guyancourt) in Mar 2026
Interview
I had an initial interview with a recruiter, followed by an interview with two technical support leaders, a technical test, and a visit to the office in Guyancourt. Then I had an interview with HR. After a month and a half of waiting, I was ultimately not selected.
The most disappointing part was the lack of self-awareness throughout the process. They kept providing response dates that were repeatedly postponed, often with the excuse that someone was on holiday. In the end, after all the time and effort invested, I simply received a generic “Unfortunately, we have selected another candidate” message. It was very frustrating and felt highly disrespectful.
Is this level of professionalism typical across the company?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions are mostly based on what you know about the company, followed by behavioral questions related to the support engineer role.
The technical test had multiple-choice questions. In the first part, there were acronym-related questions, for example, “What does HTML stand for?”.
The second part included basic programming questions involving for loops, predicting outputs, and multiple-choice questions about object-oriented programming.
The third part consisted of SQL questions based on a table shown on the last page.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Starlims in Nov 2021
Interview
One of the more strange interview processes I've had. I interviewed with it seemed like everyone but the hiring manager. I had to ask several times to meet my potential future manager and it was difficult to get their time and have a interview. Major red flag... which I should have heeded. The main interview was very technical - one of the harder interviews I have had in my career. It took me several weeks to come to a decision on accepting the offer - there were so many red flags but the pay and benefits were good so I ended up accepting.
