The people who describe the culture as "bizarre" are not kidding around. There is something very Stepford Wives meets Logan's Run goin on here. Almost everyone is young...especially the HR person who was like, a 10 on the super perky and nice scale. Too bad I hate phony niceness. I was asked a series of behavioral questions (read from a scrip as in "tell me about a time when.....") to determine if "I would fit their culture." When I hear that, what I know they really mean is: "We did not realize when we called your for an interview that you were on the wrong side of 35. Therefore, we are going to ask you a series of questions that nobody who is not a total egomaniac can really answer with out feeling like a jerk, all so that we can have an excuse not to hire you. Because if we did, you might mock our narcissistic youth culture and we would feel guilty about indulging in nap time.
So my advise to you is to forget about working here unless you are a fresh faced 20 year old. Too bad because the interview with the department head did not go badly although she probably hated my guts too. At least she did not ask me a bunch of stupid questions.
