After applying for the Senior HTML5 Game Developer role (fully remote), I received an email from a member of the recruitment team inviting me to a 30-minute initial video interview via Google Meet. They provided a calendar with available time slots, making it easy to schedule at my convenience.
The interviewer was polite and friendly, creating a comfortable atmosphere during the call. Following this, they emailed me a coding assignment to assess my skills. They were considerate about timing and asked for my preferred time to receive the task, ensuring I had the full 24-hour window to complete it.
The assignment was detailed in a Game Developer Assignment PDF. It involved creating a new project in TypeScript and Pixi.js with three tasks, all accessible through an in-game menu. The challenge was well-structured and engaging.
After submitting the task, they promptly acknowledged receipt and mentioned they would follow up with feedback soon. True to their word, about a week later, I was invited to a 60-minute follow-up interview to discuss further steps. Unfortunately, after another week, I was informed they had found a candidate who was a perfect fit for the role. However, they took the time to provide thoughtful feedback on my assignment, which I greatly appreciated.
Overall, from the job description, the company website, and the professional and respectful interview process, I feel that this is an organisation I’d still be very interested in working for if another opportunity arises.
