      Customer Service Associate Interview

      18 Sept 2017
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (London, England) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Applied online through the Sainsbury's website. Had to put in information about name, age, address, experience and references. Then went onto the questions (around 15) that asked you about what you would do in certain situations. You had to click what ones you WOULD do and what you WOULDN'T. Then I got a text the next day from HR saying that they would like to arrange an interview in store. When I called the number given they asked for my details, security question and then told me about the job/hours. The interview was arranged for 2 days time & they sent me an email giving me lots of information about where it was & what I needed to bring. On arrival at the shop (get there 10-15 minutes earlier) I asked one of the workers there to get the manager (remember manners!). I then was seated in a room until the manager called me in, she was there with her supervisor. The first part of the interview was right to work - bring passport, a bill or information that proves your address as well as anything else needed. I was then told to go on the shop floor & write down what I liked and what I didn't like. An example of this would be: + Clearly labelled prices - meal deals + Challenge 25 clearly displayed + Polite & smiles on workers faces - Crates in the way of the aisles - Some stock needs to be replenished - Items in the wrong place I then went back (I had 15 minutes to do this) and I went though my answers (remember to expand on WHAT & WHY). Then the manager took this sheet from me and asked questions relating to customer service. She read these from a sheet so they're likely to be the same. Don't worry if you don't have experience! I came from no experience and my manager interviewing was nice enough to let me explain this through college scenarios. She was also very calming and relaxing, something I worried about since I have anxiety. I then shook her hand (remember to say thank you for their time whether or not you get the job). The interview was on a Friday and on Monday morning I got an offer for the job. My induction is Wednesday and I think I start on Thursday!

      Interview

Very good, did not ask anything very hard. Most was focused around future goals rather than about the job itself. Minima preparation needed provided you don’t answer anything in a stupid way.
