The interview process took months with over 8 hours of interviews. I showed up in my interviews in a very authentic way. I had my pronouns next to my picture in every call I did. In my last interview I was asked the question "How would you respond to someone misgendering someone in the workplace?" I have been in leadership positions for large companies the majority of my career and have never been asked that question nor do I feel it is appropriate to pass judgement on how anyone responds to discrimination in the workplace. Do you ask POCs how they would respond to hearing someone use a racial slur against someone in the workplace? Do you specifically ask disabled people how they would respond if they saw someone being treated differently? The interviewer went on to explain how they are not good at pronouns and it would be a struggle. I am disappointed that a public company headquartered in Seattle is not a safe place for individuals to show up authentically in the interview process.
