The person who interviewed me was nice and honest about the job. We talked about my schedule and what they were looking for in a part timer. I also was able to get stock after I think a year or two.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to step into a leadership role?
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Publix in Jul 2009
Interview
It is fairly easy to get a job at Publix. They sometimes (not always) hire people starting at age 14. I started working at the Destin Publix when I was 15. The application process is automated, and must be done at an in store kiosk. The interview was not too hard either. I didn't even have to rehearse or prepare for it, and I was still hired on the spot (this may be partly because I applied right before the summer season, and it gets BUSY during that time).
Most of the interview questions were pretty basic, like "Tell me about yourself", "what do you think makes a good employee", "what was the hardest decision you made this year and why", "are you a leader or a follower", "how can you contribute to this store", etc.

Question 1
"Tell me about yourself"
"what do you think makes a good employee"
"are you a leader or a follower"
Easy peasy, as I was able to easily answer their questions with diligence and grace. Super duper easy as I’ve already mentioned before, just bring your best smile. Do you understand the reason you want to work there? Think of that answer and you will be golden.

Question 1
What would you do if a customer asked for help and you didn’t know the answer.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Publix (Newnan, GA) in Sept 2024
Interview
It was easy. I was told more about the company than asked about myself. I had two interviews in total, and both went about the same. The manager was very nice.
