I have written that the interview process has taken 11 months because I interviewed with this company in July 2010, and, as of this writing (June 2011), I have yet to hear back from the company as to whether I was hired or not! Obviously, National Business Media (NBM) passed on me, but what kind of company does not have the decency to notify an individual that he/she did not get the job they interviewed for? I mean, it's not like I took an hour or two out of my busy life to interview with them or anything...
What cracks me up is that the chief interviewer specifically told me during the interview that he would let me know whether or not I got the position as soon as possible. He even went so far as to say, "We're not one of those companies that takes forever to get back to you...we'll definitely let you know ASAP whether or not you made the cut." Well, it's been 11 months, and I'm still waiting...what a joke! I, like several other applicants, also had no idea what NBM actually does--their website is INCREDIBLY unclear about what type of business they are. I was grilled about this in the interview ("what would you say our company does?"), and when I couldn't answer correctly, everyone in the company laughed. You'd think they were a newswire service or something, but noooo, apparently not...
