Process was outlined as HR screen, interview with hiring manager, and finally a project + group presentation. I appreciated the transparency around potential challenges. They were recognizing a need to create a dedicated role, however did not seem to have done the market research for what they were looking for.
It was a red flag that as a company, they were excited about the prospect of it being the first opening where the CEO was letting go of the reins to fully allow the team to make a hire, stating that previously all hires had to be signed off on personally by CEO. (and that this was generally the case for all decision making)
A pretty clear timeline was laid out for making decisions throughout the process. That timeline did not stay on track and ultimately, I was ghosted in the process.
