I was interviewed by two women who let me know as soon as I sat down that the position I applied for didn't exist and that they only wanted to "see what was out there." They looked at my resume and asked about my experience in some other areas unrelated to what I'd applied for, then asked me to fill out a lengthy job application. During this time I could overhear them talking about me outside the room, which was disconcerting and unprofessional. Another employee popped his head in to ask me about my qualifications for—again—a position I hadn't applied for, but then joined the conversation about me that I could clearly overhear. It was bizarre. I never heard back from them, and I was grateful. The women who interviewed me were both rude and seemed unconcerned about completely wasting my time. And who discusses a candidate within earshot of the candidate? I felt like I was being observed in a lab. I dodged a bullet!
