I interviewed with Loft for two roles: IT Platform Engineer and Senior Software Developer. Initially, I applied for the IT Platform Engineer position, but was encouraged to also pursue the Senior Software Developer role based on my background.
The process for both roles was long and frustrating. For the IT Platform Engineer role, I spoke with the hiring manager, who then went on a five-week work trip and became completely unresponsive. The recruiter was unable to get any updates during that time, and I eventually received a rejection email six weeks later with no explanation or feedback.
Meanwhile, I went through a multi-stage interview process for the Senior Software Developer role. This included a 45-minute call with the hiring manager, a take-home assessment that took me around 15 hours to complete, three in-person technical interviews at the Golden, CO office, and a one-hour behavioral interview. Unfortunately, the in-person rounds felt poorly structured—mostly trivia-style questions with minimal engagement around my experience or the take-home project. One interviewer didn’t introduce himself and jumped straight into questions. During the behavioral interview, I wasn’t given time to ask questions and was rushed out at the end.
Two days later, I received a generic rejection email. Although feedback was offered, it was never provided despite my request. Overall, the interview panel seemed underprepared and the process lacked clarity and professionalism.
