I was promoted from within. I'd been working as a General Warehouse Associate in the Shipping department for about nine months. during this time, I was involved in various committees offered to associates such as the Safety Committee and the "Continuouous Improvement" Team. These helped me gain exposure to upper management and showed that I take initiative. I placed my resume directly in the hand of the Warehouse Manager one day, and had a talk with him that following day. After that, it was pretty standard stuff: Formal interview, Panel interview with the Senior Management team, and then the waiting game. I went back to work for about a month before I heard anything. One of the Operations Managers told me it would be official the following week in passing conversation. Awkward.
