I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Innodata (Ridgefield, NJ)

      Interview

I received a direct message on Linkedin about this job, as a Foreign Language Specialist. I was told they are looking to employ 100 people, and other informations that were very encouraging, so I thought it was a great opportunity, because I have a very high profficency in that language. I got in touch with the Innodata recruiters via email, they immediately responded positively and sent me a 90 minutes assessment in English, underscoring their urgency to be in the next 24h. Note that I was applying for a foreign language job, but later got to know I would have to take 2 assessments in 2 different languages, for not such a high pay. 90 minutes per assessment for a job you don't know if you're going to get, and for average pay, seems like a high ask to me personally. It sounds more like they're collecting responses (and maybe data) to train their AI model, and then reject you. Ok, I did take time off my day to prepare and to respond to the test in English. I will say it was well structured, but many questions were extremely confusing and not well written. It was hard to really understand what they're asking for the two mini-essays that were included. Many of the instructions were contradictory, in my opinion, probably to subjectively test your logic and train of thought? Unfortunately I was told days later that I didn't pass the English test, so they automatically removed me from their list, which, again, was for a foreign language. I felt it was unfair to eliminate a candidate to Foreign Language Specialist without assessing that foreign language. I would think they would assess English, assess the other language and take an average, or take their conclusions later. I am a fast learner and hard worker. Didn't seem like they were judging anything technical, so I just needed to be taught about their work processes to be a good addition. I will say that their communication to me was responsive and positive (the Innodata contact was good communicator), but no hints about my biggest mistakes in the assessment. In the end I felt kind of scammed, for all these factors: I was directly messaged, I had a lot of matching skills, they supposedly had 100 openings, nothing too technical, specific required language was not assessed, and average remuneration.

      Interview

The entire interview process lasted a total of 8 minutes for one interview. Should have been a red flag. There were no follow-up interviews. The man who interviewed me also had "Open to Work" on his LinkedIn profile and was very unenthusiastic during our conversation.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Innodata

      Interview

Absolutely one of the WORST. A recruiter reached out to me, saying the process is really quick and their candidates love it, and I applied. I heard back quickly. They sent me 90 min English assessment, which I passed. Then they sent me 90 min assessment in another language, which I also passed. Then they scheduled an interview with the recruiter and he said he would send me two more assessments. One was basically personality test and the other was another English competency test. After finishing both, I sent a follow up email because it was past the date he said he would reach back out to me. He replied a few days after the email, saying I have passed the both assessments but they are waiting for the training date to be confirmed before giving me an offer. I waiting for another week and sent a follow up email and haven’t heard back. I might end up being ghosted. Ghosting a candidate, or simply not communicating thoroughly after FOUR assessments is NOT acceptable. Just don’t apply here. How they treat you as a candidate is a reflection of how they would treat you as an employee.

      Interview

The first round was 2 language assessments, each lasts for 90min. Not hard if you use both languages in daily basis. After you completed both assessments, they will send you an email to schedule an interview with HR, which is really chill as well.
