I applied for the PHP team lead role in Toronto, the interviews went smooth and their TAS was also very kind and informing, always set a preface meeting before the interviews explaining what I should expect from the meeting and gives feedback from the previous one.
in the previous roles my work focus was on Go and not PHP, and after the meeting with the VP this became the excuse that I don't have the enough & updated knowledge of PHP anymore! (I have already passed their coding challenge), their set another code challenge with me and this one went even smoother than the previous one.
in total I had 6 interviews with them!! which one of them was just visiting their office and getting to know the team. during all interviews I talked with more than 10 of their team members (include 3 skip level managers).
in the whole process they claimed that I was their number 1 candidate, and after the last meeting (last coding challenge) they told me that they will come back with the offer and thanked me for the patience with their process.
and they never came back to me, even not responding to my follow up email.
UPDATE:
they called me after, and explained to me that there was an unexpected leave for the hiring manager which caused all the interviews to be paused for some time, and also the company has freezed the role for now.
