I interviewed at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation
Interview
I had a wonderful interview process -- the team was responsive, the process moved quickly, and I felt like they went out of their way to address my questions as well. I interacted with a great team (recruiters and Foundation employees).
I applied online. I interviewed at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation
Interview
Had an hour long interview with recruiter. Recruiter told me they'd get back. They never then responded to my emails or messages. I called the foundation and they just said it takes a long time with a hurried tone.

Question 1
Tell me more about your experience/interests in this particular department
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (Palo Alto, CA) in Jan 2023
Interview
Applied online, Had a great first round interview (so I thought) with hiring manager where my experience and background paralleled the job description and what they were looking for. After following up with a thank you email and checking back in the following week as requested, I received a decline email from the hiring manager 4 days later. The email came from the same hiring manager (the only person I interviewed with) and stated "the hiring manager has decided to pursue other candidates who appear to match her priorities for the role more closely" . I think she meant the CAO executive not hiring manager however how can I "appear not to match her priorities" when I didn't even get a fair chance to interview with her for her to know? I was genuinely excited about this role and checked all the boxes. Considering what this non-profit stands for, I am disappointed and surprised that they would be biased towards and discriminate a candidate this way and hope this review reaches the founders, Gordon and Betty.
