      Sales Operations Analyst Interview

      11 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Reston, VA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Reston, VA) in Aug 2020

      Interview

The recruiter scheduled a 30-minute screening phone call one week after I applied on Google through the employee referral. We went through some basics such as my experience relevant to the job and why Google/Sales Ops. The job required knowledge in Excel and SQL; I was asked some basic concepts of these tools both in the recruiter phone screening and in the hiring manager interview. The interview with the hiring manager was scheduled one week after the initial phone screen. It was conversational. I went through my background and got some behavioral questions. I also learned more about the team/extended org and what responsibilities the role would have. The final round was three interviews with the same hiring manager, his manager, and a stakeholder from the Sales team; 45-minute each interview with a 15-minute break in between. Each interview was to assess your strengths and culture fit around the four attributes where you can find on Google’s career website. Be sure to deliver a structured answer to help the interviewers take notes in the interview. My recruiter also provided some prep guides before the final round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The final round case questions were about Google and role related hypothetical questions. My advice is to know about Google's products and how do they make money. Be familiar with the team/role you're interviewing and the possible tasks your role would work on (You should get some clues during the first round interview).

      Interview

It was rather long with estimate operations cost of YouTube excel calculations and how to distribute stock among retailer s. The actual job was very limited. Make sure you ask questions about what skills you will actually get to use. They wrote data analytics in jd but it was Excel only.

      Sales Operations Analyst Interview

      14 Jun 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Mountain View, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Apr 2012

      Interview

While I'd like to have more positive things to say, I don't. The feeling from the interview process is they are very unorganized and disconnected. The whole process took about 3 months between phone screen and final interview. Despite that, I never even got a email or phone call telling me I didn't get the role. I think it's a basic sign of respect to at least tell a candidate what their status is. In fact, it's been a year now, and they've still made no effort to reach out.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me an unanswerable math question. I guess it is to see how rigorous my approach would be and how many attempts I would make before giving up? Or possibly how I would vocalize a process to a problem.
