I had a disappointing candidate experience with Gong. Initially, a phone interview was scheduled with HR, but the recruiter failed to call at the appointed time and did not send any prior notification. An hour later, she reached out via WhatsApp to reschedule for the following morning.
I successfully passed the phone screen and moved on to a Zoom interview with the professional manager, even though I live very close to the offices. Despite this, they insisted on conducting it remotely. This stage also went well, and I was given a two-week home assignment.
Following the completion of the assignment, I was invited for a panel interview to present my work. However, after this step, there was a sudden lack of communication from Gong. I reached out to HR via WhatsApp after 10 days of silence and was initially ignored. When I sent a more assertive message, the HR replied that the company was in a "silent period" and nobody was available. I was frustrated by the lack of clear communication about this period.
Eventually, a phone call was scheduled to update me on my application status, but it never materialized. A week later, I received a generic rejection email dated May 9, almost two months after the process began on March 17. The email included a 100 NIS gift card, but it did little to alleviate the overall disappointing experience.
