My entire interview process, from start to finish, has been relatively unpleasant and exhausting. I applied for this position in mid-June and was not offered the position till August after I had to follow up with them. She was also inflexible to the point that she felt challenged/threatened and "didnt want to go back and forth with me" after i respectfully asked her if i could fly to their facility as opposed to driving 4.5 hours even though I told her multiple times it was not a dealbreaker if i drove. Initially, she said due to "costs" and because i was driving for less than 6 hours, it was not recommended. When i read their company policy about travel, it stated that i was eligible to fly since my drive was greater than 3 hours. This ultimately led to my offer being rescinded as she said that i should listen to her despite what their company policy was, even though, again, since i was onboarding, i was asking to get a clearer idea of what to expect in the future. I came to realize that that is NOT the kind of manager i want to work under. If you have the skills and talent, i suggest you look elsewhere or stay for a certain period of time and keep your head down because a manager like that seems to not tolerate being held accountable nor acknowledge any potential errors on her behalf.
