A recruiter working with the company reached out to me with the opportunity. I met with one of the hiring managers for the role, and then the company went into a hiring freeze which paused the process for about 2 weeks. I was then moved to the next step, but some time between my 1st interview and 2nd interview, the position I was primarily interviewing for had been filled internally. They continued my application for a separate role entirely, and I was not notified of this until I was mid-interview with the other hiring manager. They didn't have my resume on hand, and had no information on next steps.
