The interview process was somewhat strange. First interview was via Zoom. The interviewer had no details on the actual job itself. It seems more of an interview to see if you fit the culture. The second interview was pretty similar. Strange questionings. One that stood out was "What is the biggest difference between you and your best friend." "Who's more ambitious". "What's the best and worst day of your previous job look like", "Describe your coolest boss". The questions that felt a little too personal. They did note that this was a 1099 Employment. The pay scale was $30-40k, which seems low for industry standard. I was never made aware if benefits were offered. They did say they have a preferred tax company to assist with being a 1099 employee, as they do not remove taxes from your paycheck. Between the potential cost of health benefits and the expense of obtaining a tax advisor, this is essentially a minimum wage position. To me it seemed the company puts profits before employees, thus the 1099 pay model. Seemed strange to me that they require so many interviews for the salary range, but at least you'll have "cool" coworkers?
