Filled out applications online that included 5 references. It does ask for 2 of them to be from former managers. However, for recent graduates your CI’s and professors should suffice.
This process took place through the Christmas break. I received a call from the Director of Therapy and asked what my short term and long term plans were for the available PRN position. She notified me that the Therapist that would interview me was on vacation and set an appointment from a week till the date of the call.
The interview went well and took a tour of the facility, looked at a typical schedule (very fast paced), briefly discussed the proper color for scrubs, and asked a series of questions. The conclusion of the interview was informing me of the next steps of a possible offer and what the offer is dependent on; Being, of course, the background check and drug screening.
I hadn’t heard back from HR for 6 days so I called to “follow up” on my interview and ask some questions pertaining to flu shots and tb tests. The Therapist that interviewed me was surprised I hadn’t heard back from HR and let me know she would follow up for me. As it turns out the person in charge of notifying job applicants just got back from vacation and offered me that day.
Overall, the hiring process was professional and seamless considering it was done through Christmas. Everyone I spoke with was very polite and welcoming of any and all questions. Very pleased with Healthsouth though this process.
