They have one of the funniest interview processes I've experienced and in no way is a credible means to judge ones skill-set so do not be discouraged if you find yourself rejected, your not losing out on anything and here is why.
• A recruitment agency called me and said its on behalf of Emaar Properties.
• The salary mentioned was a non-negotiable 1500 USD or 6000 AED per month package which is far below global standards.
• The recruiter stated sponsorship is not offered by Emaar but by the recruitment agency, so you would essentially be an employee of a third party on an initial 3 month contract.
• They then called me for a 10 minute phone interview and asked me for textbook definitions of 3 maybe 4 basic questions.
• The questions were in fact irrelevant in context to building scalable apps and were aimed towards deriving text book / dictionary definitions without addressing key engineering challenges.
They seem to hire without proper screening processes.
The multiple React native apps I built, 3 of which for leading real estate companies in the UAE along with my achievements were completely disregarded by the interviewers.
Having lived in the UAE all my life, In this country an entry level customer service role pays more than what they were offering.
Lastly, A good evaluation of a skillet is an assignment that tests your ability to write code, another alternative is a well planned multiple choice questionnaire relevant to the job.
