      Intern Interview

      19 May 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Docusign

      Interview

Submitted my resume and cover letter through my university's career site and was contacted about 3 days later to schedule a phone interview. During the interview, the interviewer (current project manager) asked a lot of questions about my background and why I would want to intern at DocuSign. After about another 3 days, the same person contacts me about participating in on-site interviews. At the on-site interviews, I was met with 3 people. First person was the same project manager that I talked to on the phone, second person was someone who worked as a consultant, and the third person was the director of the program I was hoping to intern for. I thought the first two interviews went very well but the last one probably dinged me because the interviewer seemed put off by my responses and didn't really inquire any further about anything I said. After the on-site interviews, the project manager told me I can expect a decision by the middle of the next week. Received a call and was told that they decided to move forward with more experienced candidates. Not only was it super awkward to receive a rejection over the phone, but it was also quite unnecessary. The person could have just sent me an email which would have been less painful than a phone call.

Thanks for writing a review. It's interesting to me that you'd prefer a phone call versus an email as we have gotten feedback that rejection messages via email are "cold" especially after a candidate has come in to interview. That's why we often call. But thank you very much for sharing this input and we hope you found the right opportunity.

I interviewed at Docusign (Seattle, WA)

      Interview

Not bad; started with recruiter screening, and then tech screen, and then a call with the hiring manager. They were very responsive, which was very appreciative. I also really enjoyed the help they provide through the process.
