Interview
I applied to Direct Online Marketing after a friend (whose company was a client) suggested it when I told him someone from there was looking at my LinkedIn. The initial outreach was quick — they sent a Personality Test, which seemed normal enough. However, the process took a strange turn when I was sent a Cognitive Test consisting of 50 math riddles and puzzles to be completed in 12 minutes.
As a seasoned marketing professional, I found this extremely discouraging. In today’s market, where the interview process is already demanding, it feels unreasonable to base interview eligibility on a timed logic quiz rather than real-world marketing experience or strategic thinking. Many reputable companies now ask candidates to present a campaign or portfolio — a far more meaningful measure of skill.
To make matters worse, there was no follow-up after the Cognitive Test. For a company that promotes a “no-jerk” culture, this lack of communication and respect for candidates’ time is disappointing.
Hopefully this helps others considering applying — proceed with caution, and know your worth.

Interview
This is the worst interview process I've ever experienced in my career. I first applied, then completed a behavioral assessment and cognitive assessment, and then had a phone interview with the company. They explained the position well and then next steps in the interview process. I was invited to complete a technical assessment which required that I send some of my work to an email listed in the Word document that was used for submission. The email address didn't exist according to Google Tag Manager and no one at this company's hiring team caught that mistake before I did leading up to the deadline for submission including the three days I was given to complete the assessment. I emailed the career office about this issue, but no one ever got back to me from these emails. It was only until I left a voicemail for a member of the hiring team individually about this that I heard back from them and was emailed the correct email address for submission. I was then invited to complete another official job application and invited to their office the following day for in-person interviews with their hiring team. I thought they each explained the position and company well and when I was leaving, they told me that I would hear back about next steps after the holidays, but if I had any questions, I could email them in the meantime. This round of interviewing occurred right before the holidays happened. I waited two weeks through the holidays and then one more whole week after to email the hiring team asking about a follow-up which she never responded to. It took her almost three weeks after I sent the follow-up email to send a generic email where they "sincerely appreciated the effort and interest I invested in the application and interview process." As someone who was genuinely interested in working for this company at one point and put a lot of effort in trying to excel in the interview process, they showed very little effort and interest in me as a candidate for the position throughout their interview process. I will never apply to work for a company like this ever again, and if I ever go through a bad interview process in the future, I will remember the horrible interview process at Direct Online Marketing and withdraw my candidacy immediately.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that the hiring process didn’t meet your expectations—that’s not the kind of experience we want anyone to have. While we can’t change what’s already happened, we want you to know that your feedback matters. Your input will help us make the process better for future candidates.

Interview
LinkedIn Email to one of their leads inquiring if they had any open roles with my resume attached, DOM Email asking if I was interested in interviewing, Initial Interview, CSM Assessment, Confirmation Email with Next Steps. I was told I would hear next steps one week after turning in the CSM Assessment.
