I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Deloitte (Cleveland, OH) in Nov 2008
Interview
The first opportunity to meet the Deloitte recruiters, and employees was at a campus event where they gave a presentation on my campus. Admittedly, the presentation was fairly cryptic for an undergraduate who knew little to nothing about consulting and Oracle/SAP software. Basically I just put my name on a sign-in list, which I think ended up taking me pretty far.
Second, Deloitte came to our campus career fair where I dropped off a resume and gave the token 5 minute speech. I would say the most important part was submitting a polished resume and going beyond their expectations (i.e. writing a cover letter when they didn't ask for one). From what I know from being inside the organization now is that they had applications from about 120 students for the entry level analyst jobs. They selected 30 for interviews.
The first round of interviews occurred on a Thursday where all of the applicants came in and had two 30 minute interviews with various interviewers. These were both behavioral interviews where they ask you the normal, "Tell me about a time when you..." and "How would you approach a situation where..." questions. I believe about half of the initial 30 were invited back for a second (and final) round interview.
The second round consisted of two more behavioral interviews and one case-study. All of the applicants invited back for the second day of interviews were provided with a current employee to give them a practice case-study the night before. One thing to note here is that they mistakenly gave a few applicants THE SAME case-study for practice AND for the real interview. Those applicants were asked to come back that night to do another case-study. The behavioral interviews in the second round were just like the first round.
Finally, we were told that we would have to wait about 2 weeks to hear back, but actually received calls after 3 or 4 business days. Everybody who was a campus hire and offered an entry level analyst job received a $10,000 signing bonus.

I went through two interviews. The first interview included the behavioral part and case part. The second interview was with a managing director, and the entire interview was about solving a M&A case.
