3. Onsite---- (Weird Weird Weird)
Reached out to schedule 5 interviews via video. I requested to break it to a couple days - granted.
1st day- 3 interviews
1st Interview- Tech Round Sql based on coderpad
2nd- Case study Centered around metrics to solve a business problem
3rd- This is where it starts--------------RED FLAG 1-----------------------------------------
Interviewer- ok we'll do a case study. Can you open Coderpad?
me- Sure
I- Types in a schema.
me (Wondering)- Isn't this the same as 1st round? Forget it, maybe that's the tactic
I- voices over the ques
me- Can you please type that in?
I- Sure. [Pastes something. (Ques followed by 3 prompts that read "Do not show to candidate")] lol
me- starts solving (It's the same ques as first round but I think maybe they're gonna probe some other angle)
In a 45 min round when I'm almost done solving the ques thinking I nailed it- at the 42nd min-
I- Didn't you solve this before?
me- yes, kind of.
I- why didn't you tell me?
me (Wondering)- really?
I- the first interviewer wasn't supposed to ask this but something else.
me- (Wondering) - Is that my problem?
me- I can redo this if need be
I- Someone will reach out to you.

"We apologize for the mess up. Hope you would like to continue the remaining 2 interviews?"
me- Sure. Hope this doesn't fall on my plate and impact my candidacy
Caller- not at all. We'll redo that messed up module in case you clear other rounds.
Me- Ok

Interview 4 next day (Someone who I'd spoken to before. )
I- We're sorry for the mess-up as the problem was "Largely" on us. blah blah blah....
me- okay. Can we continue with the interview?
I- Interview? Didn't the person who'd called you convey that we don't find you a good fit?
me- Whaaaat? (they're calling it off??, really? )
I- yeah, I'm sorry it's miscommunication again. I wasn't even planning to conduct this call, instead I joined coz I saw it on my calendar.
me- hangs up.

Why didn't you tell me that I was asking you a repeat question? lol
Interviewed with Confluent two times for two different positions. First one I ended up getting ghosted after 2 rounds and I foolishly decided to interview again for another position after a different recruiter reached out after over 6 months since the first interview period (long enough for me to forget what happened). Ended up finishing another 2 rounds for the new position before getting ghosted again and told a month later the position would be outsourced. Unprofessional and fooled me twice.

Signed NDA but normal data science questions with nothing too difficult or out there.
The process was a set of SQL and Python problems. There were 3 SQL problems and 1 Python problem. The next round consisted of a case study related to their product.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Confluent in Jun 2021
Interview
Technical interview with 2 intermediate to advanced SQL questions and one easy to intermediate python question. SQL functions and keywords were provided after some struggling with the material. Interviewer was good about responding to questions.
