6 rounds of interviews and checking in on references is far too much of a process for a boilerplate rejection email. Its honestly disgusting. The otherwise still messy and unprofessional process involved meeting with a product director, the rest of the product team, the CEO, and then three additional people across various teams for the sake of "culture fit." At least I think: rarely was it discussed what the conversation was going to be about. There also was no singular HR partner to reach out to for additional questions. I had multiple folks reach out asking for some time at the same time. One person used Google Calendar to schedule meetings; no one else did.
More concerning is that I often got emails from interviewers at 10 - 11 PM: a bad indicator of work life balance. While everyone seemed like a fun person to work with, I do wonder what I dodged there.
