      Enterprise Account Executive Interview

      22 Feb 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Braze in Feb 2022

      Interview

Process was somewhat disjointed, which was fine, but I was promised feedback and a decision and then ghosted. Feedback from panel and hiring managers was direct and good, but kept having delays in one meeting to the next then the process just ended after the presentation round (good feedback) ghosted after that.

      Question 1

Deep product presentation requirements. Significant time investment.

      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Braze (New York, NY) in Oct 2022

      Interview

Recruiter reached out via email in August, wasn't interested at the time. A month later when I was looking for a new role, reached back out and tried to schedule, but that recruiter had already left Braze. Signs to come, as another recruiter reached out to schedule first round, and had that a couple weeks later. Told me was going to follow up with manager interview, did not hear back for legitimately 3 weeks. I wasn’t seriously interviewing elsewhere yet, but when I finally was, I asked them for an update a THIRD regional recruiter reached out and asked for another first round. IMO this is already just bad organization, shows how much they care about candidates even after the…first round. I told this recruiter that I already had the first round and was waiting for the manager round, but went ahead and spoke again after the two recruiters got notes from each other. I was fully expecting this “first round” to just have a small chat, but they asked me standard questions again for 30 min, which is whatever I’m not going to be too salty about wasting three weeks. So after this call, was hoping/expecting a manager round confirmation and told me if I didn’t hear from them within three days to reach out. I didn’t hear from them, and three days later I reached out, and the regional recruiter told me that they decided to not move forward, even though I felt I was personally qualified and the first round conversations pretty much confirmed to me. I’m totally cool with rejection, but my experience talking with three separate recruiters, essentially two first rounds, and the promise of a second round manager interview….after 4 weeks? Please don’t waste your candidate’s time like this…I don’t need all that time and dialogue to not even make the second round. Braze isn’t that large of a company, be more respectful and organized with your recruiting process please. They do have a NY office which people go in, and this was enticing and attractive to me. Not sure if was fully remote, but I think for EAE roles you definitely had to be within the same region/hybrid environment.

      Question 1

Standard phone screening questions from the recruiter.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Braze (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2022

      Interview

The first interview was a no-call no-show. I received an email the next day that he had been sick. The rescheduled interview was the following day and the recruiter came 8 minutes late for a 30-minute discussion. He came with very little knowledge of the role and or company because he was “new”. It was a very poor first impression of the company and already was contemplating whether this was a place I wanted to work if this was their standard. In the 22 minutes, the recruiter proceeded to rapid fire questions about previous work experience but again had little to nothing to offer around the role and responsibilities, even from a 50,000-foot view.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Were you previously a hunter or farmer? What size companies did you support? What does Braze do? What are you looking for in your next role?
