HR Reach out, followed by an online coding assignment, a tech follow up, and then the HM round (never went past the tech follow up and decided to withdraw my application after a horrible tech follow up experience) so not sure about the later rounds.
There was massive miscommunication between the HR and the interviewers. After my tech assignment, I was invited for a follow up tech interview, for which I confirmed twice and was informed that this will be based on the online test. I was categorically informed that this round will be a follow up to the tech assignment shared earlier, but the interviewer said it is wrong information and they want to do a pair programming test and I should hve come prepared with an IDE. On my saying that there was a gap in expectation setting by the HR, he then started commenting upon why he is not a fan of my current company, and how my current company works easy life however Bain moves super fast and we only need people who can move super fast... He then mentioned I will send you questions on the zoom chat, and you will share your screen... Since I wasn't very aware of the zoom chat features and I coulnd't find it, the interviewer started bashing me again on why people should know these basic softwares -- basically all things I have heard about consulting experiences going downsouth, I was given a live taste of it in the interview itself, where my interviewer was VERY disrespectful, and left no reason to bash me on unrelated things! This is where I decided to withdraw my application, and sent the note to my recruiter quoting really bad experience, the recruiter did not even care to revert or ask any follow ups.
Overall, quite opposite to the culture and values I have heard about Bain, this was an experience I wish I did not have!
