1) Applied online.
2) Got a call a from the hiring manager a few days later.
3) At the end of the call (which was around 30 minutes long), the hiring manager said I would be contacted soon by a secretary to schedule a face-2-face interview.
4) Sure enough, 3 days afterwards I was contacted by a secretary and scheduled an interview the same day.
5) The face-2-face was very nice. It was all in English.
6) At the end of the interview, the hiring manager asked me to wait a few minutes so his manager could talk to me as well.
7) Overall, the 2 interviews took about an hour to conclude.
8) I was told by the hiring manager's manager that I would be notified within 3-4 weeks.
9) I had a feeling the company would not be willing to pay what I'd asked, so I decided to contact the hiring manager directly after ~10 days to inquire about the status.
10) A few minutes afterwards, I got a rejection E-mail from HR.
The good:
Almost everything: The office vibe, the mutual respect, the job (which sounded interesting), the frankness and no-bullshit mentality.
The bad:
Almost as usual in Israel, unfortunately, rejected candidates are left hanging and need to approach the company on their own volition to inquire about the status. Otherwise, it takes very long to get notified of the rejection.
