      Account Executive Interview

      1 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Avvoka (London, England) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Applied online and they sent me a link to book a meeting. It was the initial 15 mins call with HR, but I was passed on to someone else entirely. My understanding was that I’d be speaking with HR to learn more about the role, discuss my background and salary expectations, and ask questions. Instead, the call was with a sales peer, who wasn't even from the hiring team or the specific department, who jumped straight into asking questions. It felt like a rapid-fire round where I was being treated as disposable. I'd have appreciated it if they had started with an introduction to the company, the role, or any relevant details. When I asked about the team, the position, and the salary, they simply told me to speak with HR (which is exactly what I thought this initial call was for!!). Overall, it was an unclear interview process with a total lack of transparency. The interviewers didn't seem bothered to get to know candidates or discuss their company or salary requirements.

      Interview

I had an initial screening call with the recruiter, which was pleasant, although no salary information was shared. We then scheduled the next stage at their London office with the Director of People and the CRO. The first interview, with the Director of People, focused on culture. It was straightforward, but it felt premature given how early it was in the process. The second interview, with the CRO, was a poor experience. He arrived late, appeared unprepared, and answered his mobile phone during the meeting. After a brief introduction, he began aggressively questioning my product knowledge. I provided a clear overview of the platform and its value, but he dismissed this and insisted I should have watched a product demo beforehand. I asked if it is available on the company website, he said it is. It is not. I explained that I had researched the company thoroughly and asked where the demo could be found, as it wasn’t available on the website. He claimed it was, then abruptly ended the interview, calling it a “red line.” Overall, the interaction came across as unprofessional and adversarial. It gave the impression of a junior sales environment where the expectation is to tolerate this kind of behaviour, likely paired with a low base salary.

      Interview

The hiring process starts with a 30-minute call, followed by a case study that takes around 4–5 hours to complete. While the case study itself is reasonable, the real issue is the complete lack of feedback. If a company asks candidates to invest several hours in an assignment, the least they can do is provide an update when asked. Ignoring candidates after they’ve put in the effort is not only unprofessional but also reflects poorly on the company’s culture. It’s concerning that the hiring team, which represents the company, handles the process so poorly. If recruitment is this disorganized, it raises questions about how the company operates as a whole. This kind of treatment leaves a bad impression and is simply bad business—especially when candidates can share their experiences on platforms like Glassdoor.
