I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Air Products (Mumbai) in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview panel constituted of a team of 3 people and it didn't seem like they were interviewing an experienced professional. Questions posed were more related to what one would ask a 'Senior Process Engineer' with few years of experience in Process engineering. Moreover, the team members looked like feeling insecure that someone with better skills, experience and qualification should not be chosen. Did not look like 'Succession planning' or 'Leadership development' is a skill promoted in the Co. for experienced ppl in lead roles.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Was asked how to estimate Fire case Load for a PSV while any good experienced process engineer would typically bother about controlling cases for Flare design arising out of Power failure, Tower reflux failure, Cooling water failure etc as Fire case is seldom the controlling case for a PSV (designed for multiple cases), Flare lateral or header but more of concern from a temperature stand-point due to temperatures getting closer to Carbon steel limits and requiring superior metallurgy.
