I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam)

      Interview

I applied online and was asked to do an online interview a couple weeks later. Two HR people came online in an empty project room. The camera was positioned at the other side of the room, so it was not possible to see either interviewer clearly. Very clinical interview environment and from their introductions the HR people seemed young and inexperienced (early 20's). There were multiple questions about what motivates you to get a role in Adyen, what did you do at your last job, etc.; however, there were moments where both interviewers would gang up and ask the same question multiple times. I did think that perhaps my answer was not specific enough, but they would skip to the next question if I asked them for clarification on what they meant. Generally rude attitude and there was some hostility present. It was perhaps a good cop/bad cop type of interview, however, it did not seem either interviewer agreed on who would act as what. I was asked about the Adyen Formula. I mentioned that I went through it. I asked what they meant regarding some of the Formula's points (I was genuinely curious). Did not answer anything really coherent. I assumed they didn't understand it, either. Asked a couple questions regarding company culture and the challenges that Adyen might face in the future. Could not provide an answer; did not want to take any more questions after the second question. From what I understood Adyen is looking for underpaid students. I imagine it's not a very professional or burgeoning place to work at. Most likely because of the growth Adyen is experiencing right now, they cannot bother setting up some of their departments with competent people, such as HR. In summary: Based on the attitude and non-professionalism experienced during the interview process - good riddance for not getting the contract!

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Adyen in Mar 2020

      Interview

Bad experience interviewing with Adyen, mainly because I applied for a specific position (CDD Analyst) but after the first interview got funneled through to their grad programme, NextGen, instead. This without me having any plans of taking on a new degree (which is a requirement for placing in the program to begin with). It goes without saying that the second interview was extremely uncomfortable, as I basically had to convince two people (a "good cop" = HR lady, and a "bad cop" = NextGen Underwriting team lead) why I wanted a position I hadn't even applied for.
