I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Acumen (Burlingame, CA) in Jun 2016
Interview
The interview process starts with a dataset question (no machine learning, no high level stat models), which was quite straight forward. Then there was a technical phone interview discussing the details of the dataset done. I was invited to the onsite interview 2 days later after the phone interview, and there were no specific coding or technical questions in the onsite interview. You should familiar with your resume and projects you have done.
Phone Screen Interview
The first round was a phone screening conducted by a recruiter. This conversation focused on my background, relevant experience, and understanding of the role. In-Person Interview
The second round was an in-person interview with the hiring manager and potentially a team member. This round went deeper into my technical expertise and practical experience. I was asked to walk through specific projects, explain my decision-making process, and demonstrate how I approach real-world challenges.

Informational phone call first. If you pass, then you receive an assignment. If you pass, then you are invited to 3 hours of back-to-back interviews for "on-site." About 1-2 weeks between each round. On-site also had a logic test.
