      Business outlook

      Pros

-Flexible hours -simple hiring process -Really easy to do( You literally just drive you're car around and play music : )

      Cons

-!!!INCONSISTENT SCHEDULING!!!; the availability shifts is entirely dependent on how busy the city you work in. -Poor communication with employer... -Zero Benefits OR any real incentive to do well beyond a Doordash discount%. -The Doordash - Dasher app that is used to facilitate deliveries can be hard to use if you have poor reception.

      Pretty good

      Pros

Easy application, process was very simple.

      Cons

None that I can think of.

      Pros

      No interview process, ok pay

      Cons

Not consistent opportunities for work depending on your city and time

      Transparency

      Dasher (driver)
      Current contractor
      Atlanta, GA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The process is simple, when app is functioning. Payment is quick.

      Cons

Poor response when app fails. No place for dasher feedback or input. Help from company is inadequate. You need to be able to handle all situations by yourself. Requirements for levels are inaccurate and constantly changing

      Contractor experience

      Marketing manager
      Former contractor
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

mental health days, some teams / full time employees seem very happy

      Cons

As a contract employee at DoorDash, it was clear that contractors are treated as a bit more second-class. The onboarding process lacked sufficient support, leaving you to figure things out on your own. While diving in and adapting is part of the job, it became nearly impossible with priorities shifting constantly—sometimes minute by minute. The work environment often felt overly focused on nitpicking minor, inconsequential details rather than addressing the bigger picture. When my contract ended, my contributions were barely acknowledged, which was incredibly disheartening. Perhaps full-time employees have a more positive experience, but this was mine.

For people needing a quick dollar

      Pros

No interview process. You can start earning in 24 hours

      Cons

Non-prime hours is like earning minimum wage once you consider gas and vehicle expenses

      Has gotten really awful

      Senior account executive
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

I mean the base pay is decent for the sector and the RSUs are more than fair

      Cons

Unfortunately they’ve adopted “goaling” that is a mess and unattainable. Really depends on how lucky you get with your book. You can really get Fed over though with an awful book QoQ. The products my org pushes are outmoded and has a ton of blockers. The job used to be good but over the last year has gotten really awful. I’m doing 2-3 people’s jobs with basically no support. Offering feedback goes nowhere. Good run but it’s come to an end. The company brags about hiring the best from great companies but the truth is they hire upper management from other companies where they couldn’t get promoted so they get a title at DoorDash but aren’t familiar with the landscape at all and it shows daily. There’s also zero growth internally unfortunately. The culture is pretty toxic as well now. There was an “ event” where a VP wrote something awful in slack and then made up an elaborate lie to explain it and also blamed his son 🥴 and was believed by his managers. Very white, very bad culture.

      Always something

      Dasher
      Current contractor
      Tulsa, OK
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      Getting money, sometimes Being alone

      Cons

Getting shown one guaranteed offer and accepting it and being given less money. Broken app that forces you to do what they want. Working constantly and following all the rules to still be affected negatively. Having no recourse for the things they do to their drivers. Being told that your on time by support but marked late in the app(which effects your status and thusly your pay) Being paid less than 30 cents per mile for a 25mile trip Using your own car and insurance Paying for your own gas Being taxed like an independent contractor but making less than 10 dollars per hour before expenses while also having to work a schedule that they allow for offers that they show me while collecting fees from both me and the customer and then saying that they are not part of the process and are not liable for any negative experience as a result of any order taken from their app Having a record of all of this and not being able to do anything.
