What Employees Say
I have been working at Myplanet full-time for more than a year
- Great office and location - Not what you would expect of an agency. They lead with a lot of integrity and put the people first - Interesting work - Engaged employees - Fun environment -... Fast paced - Office dogs!
- Overall the people are great but there are some employees with a lot of influence... or maybe they’re just loud... who are very exclusive. If you don’t agree with them they are passive aggressive... and will slowly ice you out. It can be demotivating since they plan the company events and social activities. I know it’s not just me who feels this way. It’s like high school all over again if you are in the thick of it - Very reactive approach overall but lots of smart people so the two balance eachother out - Employees skew a bit younger so there is a sense of entitlement but leadership manages this well
Advice to Management
Keep it up. I have really enjoyed my years here. Do more of the leading (don’t leave it all to the PGs and other employees). Some of us who aren’t as vocal need a leader to ask us how we are... doing and not a peer. It makes a big difference. Try to be mindful of who you have in charge of things.

Honestly Shopify is the absolute hands down best company to work for. You are free to be yourself and are treated with respect and as an equal. You can start or get involved in new projects or learn... new skills and knowledge to improve yourself. There is an absolute wealth of knowledge between all the staff that are employed and they're all happy to help if they can with anything and everything. You can use your own initiative to ask someone in another role what is required a d the best way to start upskilling for that role and they will point you in the right direction.
No cons, however it can be difficult for some people to get used to the idea of asking questions and taking initiative. For example if you want to talk to someone in the very top management, go ahead... and either message them or send an invite for a 30 minute chat. The worst that can happen is they say no due to lack of time which you can then try reschedule. You won't ever find this of freedom again.
Advice to Management
Absolutely fantastic job guys & girls! Keep up the fantastic work and I love the idea of actively training all employees to be future leaders instead of just monitoring regular employees like... most companies. Allowing space and not hovering over employees is great too, as everyone is an Adult and knows what they are meant to be doing for the day.
