How does one get an EPIC certification?? I’m currently a clinical research coordinator and am interested in analyst positions that require EPIC certifications. The problem is, it seems you need to be sponsored by your workplace to get this certification. Is there a way around this? Are their jobs that are hiring that provide the training to get the certification? TIA!
I’m in a high-volume imaging center making $34/hour, and I’m being asked to train a new hire who is starting at $41/hour. When I asked HR about a market adjustment for my own rate to match the new hire, they told me it wasn't budget season and that my compensation would be reviewed in December. I am literally being forced to hand over my years of institutional knowledge to someone making significantly more than me. Should I refuse to train them until my pay is adjusted, or is that just shooting myself in the foot?
I've started a new job about 6 months ago, and I just saw a new job in a team I'm really interested in come up. I don't think I'll get the role, but i want to know what it's like to go through the hiring process and its one that i want to do in the near future. How should I approach this? Should I be transparent with my manager and the hiring manager to say im applying for the experience?
I just found out a patient lied about their symptoms for three days just to get a warm bed and a turkey sandwich, and I don't even know who to be mad at. They completely fabricated a clinical issue that required an extensive workup, wasting hours of lab and imaging time, only to admitthat they just needed a place to escape the heat. Half the staff is furious about the wasted resources, but I just feel a profound sense of sadness. At what point did the hospital become the default safety net for a society that has no other infrastructure? What’s the real solution?

I'm struggling myself to find a way to get an EPIC certification without workplace sponsorship. I've been recommended to search for workplace opportunities at Epic itself to get the certification too but I don't know if I'd go that far.
Yes, to get certified you must be sponsored by your employer. If you currently work at an organization that has Epic, reach out to your leadership about getting a proficiency in an Epic app. Proficiencies do not cost the company any money. Some organizations will hire you in as an associate/junior analyst and then sponsor you to get certified. Current Epic analyst, 2 years experience.
It’s really comes down to luck being at the right place at the right time, I have a epic certification but it’s not one that most recruiters are looking for. I reached out to epic the only way to get certified is either through epic or employment sponsorship. Good luck!
