I have been applying to so many job postings and only got one interview. I receive so many Thanks, but no thanks letters. Some of which are very good and very personal - not the typical we value your time and appreciate you applying to our organization. I have altered my resume and letter via AI to really try to get "that job", but am 1 of 100's of applicants. I don't have a degree, but am obtaining my SPHR, have 25 years of experience and have taken courses. What else should I do?
Is anyone else concerned about job applications asking for your Social Security number upfront before an interview or offer? With identity theft and fraud being so common, it feels like this information should only be requested during hiring paperwork after an offer is made. Curious how others handle this.
I had an exit interview recently where the employee said: "The job was not the problem." It was the team culture. That stayed with me. We spend a lot of time talking about pay, workload, recruitment and retention. Yet so many people leave because of how they felt every day at work. Have you ever left a role because of the culture rather than the job itself?
I'm worried my company's dress policy might be a little too vague. We require people to dress in business casual, but there's nothing specific about employees' undergarments. We have a new hire who apparently doesn't think she needs to wear a bra to work. She isn't correct. She has a decent sized chest and several people complain about seeing her chest bounce around each day. How do I address this with her? I feel this situation is worse since I'm a guy.
I have been thinking a lot about Freedom to Speak Up. It is one thing to have a route for people to raise concerns, but it is another thing entirely for staff to actually trust it. If the national structure changes, local visibility matters even more. What makes you feel safe enough to speak up at work?

Oh I would love to learn Workday
Curious to know if folks here think getting this cert is worth it? Does it actually lend credibility and support career growth like SHRM, HRCI, or WorldatWork? I see job postings requiring or saying certifications from those providers are “highly desirable” but I’ve never seen a job posting even mention HRIP certification before, at least in the US
It helps to have a cert in the platform you work on. Not so much HRIP. A lot of configuration rules and proper processes it will teach you unless you have 7+ years experience with a single platform.
I have an employee pursuing an IHRIM certification.
Were you able to find someone?
I’m currently studying not sure if you’ve obtained yours yet. I’m taking the webinars with IHRIM.
